Workout and Recovery of Distressed Debt within the Special Assets Division of a Bank.

What are banks doing with their charged off debt? Specifically commerical and residential real estate?

Is it written off completely, or are there steps in place to go back and work some of this debt, particulary the judgments, deficiencies and charged off debt.

In India,banks feel comfortable as for as real estate is concerned but yes, for commercial loan there is great problem,recovery is difficult day by day.
